The First Shot!!!

We started filming our movie opening today, and it turned out to be more challenging than we expected. The process took much longer than we originally planned, and we had to redo several shots to get them just right. We decided to film using our iPhones instead, since they still have very good camera quality.

The first scene we worked on was the news report shot, and we needed to find the right background to make it look realistic. We chose the fountain at the library, along with the pillars around it, which gave the scene a professional news style feel. The dialogue came out clear, and the soft sound of the waterfall in the background actually made the scene feel more natural and authentic like it was an actual news story. We had several attempts to get the perfect take because our actor, who is one of our friends, made a few mistakes, but eventually we got the shot we wanted. Even though the scene was short, it took about 15 to 20 minutes to film. This made us realize that filming is not easy and requires a lot of patience and effort. On top of that, we had an unexpected issue that morning when another friend who was supposed to act got sick, so we had to quickly find someone else who was available. After solving that problem, we continued filming the rest of our planned shots.

In the picture, it is me (I took the picture) my partner recording, and our friend who performed the news report scene. I was also the one taking the photo and making sure his lines were delivered correctly. He held a prop microphone to make the scene look more realistic. We plan to use this shot in our opening and add news style editing effects to make it look even more professional.
