Credit scenes are very important in a movie and it can really have an affect on the audience. I reviewed three credit scenes from action movies.

Mad Max: Fury Road immediately establishes the film as an action piece through quick editing, aggressive sound/music, and desert scenes. Bold music shows the chaos of the post apocalyptic world, keeping the audience in tension as the scene progresses. Rather than slowing the pace, the credits function as part of the scene, preparing viewers for a fast paced movie.

Mission Impossible Fallout. In this movie the credit scene was also shown after the opening action scene. The opening credits in this one was fast and entertaining, there was the theme song of the franchise, photos of explosions, guns, and some characters. The speed of this credit scene keeps the fans entertained and excited for the the movie. This sequence also tells you that the movie is an action movie because of all the photos of the weapons. This credit sequence is another great sequence that keeps fans excited.

The Dark Knight does not focus too much on the opening credit scene. This movie focuses more on the action in the opening scene which was the Bank robbery. The title appears for just a quick second. This fast paced approach is connected to the movie as the whole opening scene is fast paced The dark colors show that the movie will be action packed and with criminals hence the black color. This approach is different because it hooks the audience instantly, usually the credits slow down the movie but this approach keeps them wanting more.

1. Die Hard (1988)

Die Hard opens in an unexpectedly calm way for an action movie the beginning is  John McClane  landing at an airport. This grounded introduction shows the human side of the character before the action begins. Rather than starting with an action packed scene.

The camera lingers on McClane’s actions showing him as an everyday cop and not like a special agent of sort. This choice makes the later action feel more intense and relatable. By the time the setting  the audience understands who McClane is and why we should root for the character.

2. Mad Max: Fury Road (2015)

Unlike Die HardMad Maxthrows the audience straight into an  action scene. The opening uses fast editing, aggressive sound , and visuals to show their world.

Minimal dialogue forces the audience to learn the rules of their universe trough their own eyes. The fast paced scene immediately shows danger, instability, and survival as main themes. There is no easing in just momentum.

3. The Dark Knight (2008)

The opening scene is a bank heist that uses puzzling sequence that makes the viewer both entertained and curious to see how the movie will play out.

The reveal of the Joker at the end of the sequence establishes him as intelligent, unpredictable, and dangerous before Batman even appears. This flips the traditional action opening by centering the villain rather than the hero.

My second idea and the one I went with along with my friend is an action movie where we would record a police break in to a house at might to arrest a person who was wanted. The idea is to get some night vision google and use it to record us breaking in to the house and ultimately arresting the person. We were inspired by arrests like the bin Laden raid and other famous arrest the USA have made. This is something we used as an idea for the project.

Hello again, know that I've established I started my project I will talk to you about my ideas. My first idea was rom-com where the movie would be about this guy and girl who are complete opposite and in the same class. The opening would be me and my girl friend getting ready to school but showing how we are complete opposites of each other. This would lead to the bell ringing and her being early and prepared to start class while I walk in late. This would all lead to the end where the teacher would announce we would be working together. This idea was inspired in the movie knocked up that I watched a couple of months ago and I loved it.

Hi people from Cambridge I would like to announce that from this point on my blogs will be shifted to focus on the final portfolio project. We started this week by picking the groups and deciding the genre of our film introduction. This blog however is to explain what I plan on posting in the blogs that will come in the next couple of weeks. I will show my entire thought process and explaining how I will work to complete the project. With this I will leave you with a link to a website I used to see some intros from inspiration.
